Well, I finally made it back to Spokane the day after Christmas. After 6 trips over the pass over the course of 5 days, I have had enough of the driving thing, especially after the last trip. My mom and I headed back on the evening of the 25th and ended up getting into an accident. We are very fortunate to have come away uninjured. To make a long story short, we ended up doing a 360 in the middle of I-90 and damaged the vehicle enough to need a tow truck to make it the rest of the way to Spokane. It took about 3 hours for the tow truck to arrive and as time passed, we must have witnessed 20 or so accidents. It was a mess. The DOT ended up closing the westbound lanes for about 2 hours. I’m thankful to be home and grateful for car insurance. It didn’t seem all that scary during the accident, but in looking back on how fast we were traveling on the equivalent of an ice skating rink, I’m thankful for the grace that kept us safe and unharmed. It leaves me wondering how many times our Father protects us without us even being aware of it. And somehow, as crazy and backwards as it may seem, it’s comforting to know that we aren’t really in control no matter how much we may think we are.

Heading Home …
I just wanted to make a quick post and let everyone know that I am heading home tomorrow morning and will be in town from tuesday-thursday heading back to work Christmas Eve and then probably heading back home that night to make it just in time for Christmas. If you’re around, I’d love to see any and all of you, so give me a call.
It’s Over, It’s Over, It’s All Over Now …
Yay! I just finished my last final. I am officially 1/4 of the way through my GU education. I have no idea what the outcome will be on the Statistics Exam I took this morning and the Accounting one I just finished. But, hey, the outcome isn’t what’s important right, just that it’s over
Hmmm… maybe not the best outlook.
Regardless, it’s nice to be done. And I get to go home soon! For that I am most excited. It’s been too long. I need to see friends and my family before I forget what their faces look like. I can’t wait. I head back on tuesday morning and until then will be occupied with working everyday at Starbucks. It’s a good thing. I am blessed and then blessed some more. I love where I’m at in life. Not just in Spokane, but in where I’m at in my walk with the Lord. In this short time that I get to experience Spokane and just be a student, which is really nice for the most part (wearing jeans and a sweatshirt [and now a scarf and two coats] more frequently than a suit is a nice change of pace), he is teaching me some incredible lessons and principles that will guide me in my life to come. These are treasures that I’m not sure I would have learned had I decided to stay where I was. He is my source and without him, I would be a withered vine.
SNOW!
One of the things that I have enjoyed most about my move to Spokane is the winter. I love snow. It’s fun to live in a climate where snow is the norm in the winter and not the exception. The presence of snow creates a great feeling in the city. It almost creates a sense of unity and of people coming together. Everybody gets excited when it comes and that’s all that they want to talk about. And of course their visits to Starbucks become increasingly more frequent. The snow is gone for now, but I can’t wait for it to return!
